Wednesday, December 4th: Today is an Early Release Day. 7th & 8th graders are dismissed at 11:40am. 5th & 6th graders are dismissed at 12:30pm. There are no afterschool clubs, activities, or athletics.

Monday, December 2nd: Tonight is a PTO Meeting and Family Open Gym from 5:15-6:15! Clubs: Jazz Band is canceled today and will practice tomorrow instead. 5th & 6th grade Math Club will meet today. Athletics: Due to the open gym tonight, basketball will practice from 2:20 to 3:45 (7/8 Boys) and the 3:45 to 5:00 (7/8 Girls) slot. There is NO expansion team practice today.
Tuesday, November 26th: All clubs and after school activities are canceled today due to the Early Release day. Clubs and after school activities will resume after break on 12/2.
Monday, November 25th: All clubs and after school activities are canceled today, including basketball practice. Shark Club (extended day program for 5th & 6th graders) will still meet.
Friday, November 22nd: Basketball practices have changed: 2:20- 7th & 8th grade girls, 3:45- 7th grade boys and expansion, 5:00- 8th grade boys
Thursday, November 21st: All SPMS clubs, after school activities, and late buses are canceled today. This includes Shark Club (extended day program for 5th & 6th graders) and basketball practice. SP Rec Karate will still meet, but there is no late bus.
Civil rights teams at schools across Maine. including South Portland Middle School, took part in the sixth annual Day of Welcome earlier this month. This statewide event celebrates and promotes the idea that their school community is for everyone . The 5th and 6th grade Civil Rights Team at SPMS participated, and created a poster that is hung in the main entryway with the message, "You are welcome here."
Wednesday, November 20th: 7th & 8th Dungeons and Dragons is canceled today.
Tuesday, November 19th: 7th & 8th grade Civil Rights Team and Yearbook are canceled today.
From November 18–22, students, staff, and community members are invited to donate nonperishable food items to South Portland Middle School's Annual Food Drive. Donations will support the SPMS Food Panty and The Locker Project. The grade that raises the most food will win the honor of being the 2024 Food Feud Chomp-ions!🦈 See the filer for more details.
Tuesday, November 12th: 7th grade girls basketball tryouts are today at 2:20pm. 8th grade girls basketball tryouts are today at 3:45pm. Boys basketball tryouts will happen tomorrow.
Thursday, November 7th: SP Rec Karate is canceled today and will begin next week.
