All is Welles (and Willa, too!) sponsored South Portland Middle School's 6th grade Tiger Shark Team for "Mismatched Socks Day" in honor of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st. The date 3/21 is significant to Down Syndrome, as it represents the 3 copies of chromosome 21, which is unique to people with Downs Syndrome. Mismatch socks are commonly worn on World Down Syndrome Day as a way to celebrate our differences. By embracing our differences, we come together and create a brighter community, and inclusion for all.

The 7/8 Grade Civil Rights Team at South Portland Middle School is hosting a Community Book Club with the book "When Stars are Scattered" by Omar Mohamed. The book will be provided for free to read for families, students, teachers, and community members. Join us at the Book Club Potluck on May 7th to discuss the book and share food!
