Local parents and community planners have produced Recommended Walking Route Maps and walk and bike tip sheets for students living within one mile of each of South Portland’s five elementary and two middle schools.

The following has been excerpted from a notice received from Dr. Stephen Sears of the Maine. Please read what you need to know about protecting yourself and your family from mosquito borne illness. Questions about the content of this material can be directed to the school nurse:

Please visit http://transportation.spsd.org/routes for bus routes. Check back often as routes and times occasionally change.

Many students and families have asked if they can purchase existing student laptops at the end of the current Maine Learning Technology Initiative this June.

Do you have a child registered to begin Kindergarten in the Fall?  If so, you and your child are invited to join us for a fun introduction to your new school!  You will participate in activities appropriate for your Pre-K child, get to meet fellow classmates and staff, share in some healthy snacks and go home with a tote bag full of activities to do at home during the summer to prepare your child for Kindergarten!

Dear Parents and Community Members,

The Maine Department of Education as part of the new Maine School Performance Grading System has recently released report cards for every school in the State of Maine.

In partnership with Invent Now, South Portland School Department is pleased to offer the nationally-acclaimed Camp Invention program to children entering grades one through six this summer. This exciting, weeklong adventure in creativity immerses children in imaginative play that reinforces and supplements school-year learning in the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
